Course Description:

Social Stories™ were developed in 1991 to patiently provide information
on a limitless variety of topics for individuals with autism spectrum
disorders (ASD). Written according to a clearly defined style and format,
the goal of every Social Story™ is to describe a concept, skill,
activity, interaction, or event in an unassuming and respectful manner.
Their “cousin” approach, Comic Strip Conversations, is often
used in conjunction with Social Stories™ to accurately identify
or reinforce topics. Using lecture, demonstration, and activities, this
all-new, fast-paced course explores the most current thinking on these
popular educational tools (including an overview of Social Stories™
10.1, the first major revision and update of Social Stories™ 10.0
containing revised, reorganized, and expanded criteria, including Social
Story™ Templates), and recent research, ideas, and implications.
This course is geared for all parents and professionals, including those
with little or no experience with these approaches.

Following this course, participants will be able to:

Comments:
 "Carol
Gray is an informative and entertaining presenter and I have learned a
great deal about Asperger's syndrome from her intuitive understanding
of how a child with Asperger's syndrome thinks and perceives the world.
She has an original approach to Asperger's syndrome and Autism that is
unique and I have extensively used, in my clinical practice, her strategies
such as Social Stories, Comic Strip Conversations, and other ideas. I
always enjoy her presentations and thoroughly recommend Carol Gray as
one of the world’s leading presenters on Autism and Asperger's syndrome.”
– Tony Attwood, Ph.D.
